Android requires Location permission to scan for nearby Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) devices. The Xeno Configurator app does not collect or use your location data — it only needs the permission to discover your saber.
BLE scanning on Android is gated behind Location permission at the OS level, even if the app does not use your location. This is a Google Play Store policy. Without it, the app cannot find your saber.
The Xeno Configurator app does not request background location, does not log your GPS coordinates, and does not transmit your location to anyone. The permission is used only during the in-app BLE scan.
