Your Right to Opt Out

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), California residents have the right to opt out of the “sale” or “share” of their personal information.

We respect your right to privacy. You may use this page to submit an opt-out request.

1. Do We Sell or Share Personal Information?

For monetary consideration: No. We do not sell your personal information to third parties for money.

For cross-context behavioral advertising: Potentially, yes. We may “share” certain personal information (specifically identifiers and internet activity) with advertising partners (Meta, Google Ads) for targeted advertising purposes. Under the CPRA, “sharing” includes this type of advertising.

2. How to Submit an Opt-Out Request

2.1 Online Form

When you visit our Site, we will display a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link in the footer. Clicking this link opens a form where you can submit your opt-out request.

For implementation, we recommend:

A simple form collecting your email + a checkbox to confirm opt-out
Auto-confirmation email
Internal processing to add you to a suppression list

2.2 Email Request

Email privacy@bjsaber.com with:

Subject: “CCPA Opt-Out Request”
Body: Your name, email address associated with your account, and a statement that you wish to opt out of the sale/sharing of your personal information

2.3 Global Privacy Control (GPC)

We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. If your browser or extension sends a GPC signal, we will automatically treat it as a valid opt-out request without requiring you to fill out a separate request.

2.4 Do Not Track (DNT)

We also honor Do Not Track (DNT) signals. See our Cookie Policy for details.

3. What Happens After You Opt Out

Within 15 business days of receiving your opt-out request, we will:

Acknowledge receipt via email
Process your request by:
– Adding your email to our internal suppression list
– Setting a “do not sell/share” cookie on your browser
– Notifying our advertising partners (Meta, Google Ads) to remove you from their audiences
Confirm completion via email

After opt-out, you will:

❌ No longer see personalized ads from us on Meta, Google, or other partner networks
✅ Still see ads from us, but they will be generic (not based on your activity)
✅ Still receive our marketing emails if you have subscribed (to stop emails, use the unsubscribe link)

4. Verification Process

To protect your privacy, we may need to verify your identity before processing opt-out requests. Verification methods include:

Confirming your email address by sending a verification link
Matching your request to an existing account
Asking for additional information if needed

If we cannot verify your identity, we will deny the request and explain why.

Authorized Agents: You may designate an authorized agent to submit an opt-out request on your behalf. The agent must provide proof of authorization.

5. Your Other CCPA Rights

In addition to the right to opt out, California residents have the following rights:

We will respond to verifiable consumer requests within 45 days. If we need additional time, we will notify you and may extend by an additional 45 days.

6. Non-Discrimination

We will NOT discriminate against you for exercising your CCPA rights. Specifically, we will not:

❌ Charge you different prices or rates
❌ Provide you a different level or quality of goods or services
❌ Suggest that you will receive a different price or quality

You may, however, be charged a different price or rate if that difference is reasonably related to the value provided to you by your personal information.

7. Shine the Light Law (California Civil Code § 1798.83)

California residents have the right to request information about categories of personal information shared with third parties for those third parties’ direct marketing purposes. We do not share personal information with third parties for their direct marketing purposes.

8. Children Under 16

We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16 years of age without affirmative authorization (opt-in).

For consumers under 13: We do not knowingly collect any personal information
For consumers aged 13-15: Opt-in is required before any sale/sharing

We may update this page from time to time. The “Last Updated” date reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be communicated via:
